Does This Describe Your Feelings About The US

Does the following make sense to you? Do you agree with most of the sentiments expressed here? If so, drop me a note and I'll tell you the name of the book this came from -- I think you would be surprised....

INTRODUCTION

I think I know who you are.

After September 11th you thought our country had changed for the better. But the months that followed proved otherwise. We began to divide ourselves and the partisan bickering that was absent from blood lines and church service started all over again.

You sometimes argue with friends about politics, not because you are a political activist, but because you think the issues are actually important. You have strong beliefs, but you also have an open mind and a warm heart.

You try to do the right thing every day. You work hard, you always try to do your best and you play by the rules.

You have credit cards, but you can make the payments. You have a home, but with a loan you can afford. Maybe you bought a flat screen television that wasn’t exactly a necessity, but you’ve never been reckless.

You don’t have much in savings and your retirement plans have lost a significant amount of money.

You may go to church, but most weekends, you don’t really want to—you’d rather sleep in or play with your kids. Besides, it bothers you that people cut each other off in the parking lot right after the service.

You have children and, like all families, you also have your share of problems—but you’re making it. You constantly hope that your kids don’t notice you’re bluffing as a parent most of the time.

You don’t feel like there’s enough time in the day anymore to just be a family. Everyone is always going in six different directions. You know material things don’t matter, but you wonder why it makes you feel like a bad parent if your kids don’t have certain shoes, the newest video games, or aren’t signed-up for five different sports teams.

You didn’t have anywhere near the kind of stuff that today’s kids have and yet you look back on your childhood with a sense of nostalgia and pride. If your family was poor, you didn’t know it.

You turn on the television at the end of a long, tiring day and watch as faceless analysts in left/right boxes argue about things done by bankers that, in retrospect, seem implausible. You’re worried about what’s happening to our economy, but you’re more worried about what it means for your family—and you’re not sure what to do.

You don’t hate people who are different than you, but you stopped expressing opinions on sensitive issues a long time ago because you don’t want to be called a racist, bigot or homophobe if you stand by your values and principles. You believe in treating people justly and honestly but there is a difference between right and wrong.

You go to bed exhausted almost every night, knowing you have to get up the next day and do it all over again.

You thought that the politicians you supported and defended cared about the issues you do. Then you began to realize that you were wrong—they only care about themselves and their careers. You feel used and betrayed.

You don’t think it’s right that while you worked hard, lived prudently, and spent wisely, those who did the opposite are now being bailed out at your expense. You realize now that self-serving politicians and bankers built our financial system on a house of cards that, despite the cheery promises and rosy forecasts, is now collapsing.

Now our government, the instigator of our problems, is telling everyone that they have to start sacrificing. Don’t they understand that I already have been, you think. You weren’t the one spending too much or living on money you didn’t have. You made decisions rooted in logic while others made decisions rooted in greed—yet now everyone must pay equally?

Yet, despite all of that, you’re still willing to sacrifice more because you want America to succeed. But you demand a plan that’s based on common sense and that actually has a chance to work. You’ve called your congressman a few times in the past, but they don’t listen. Now you just scream at the television. It’s about as effective as the phone calls.

The light from the television flickers on the darkened room walls - people at tea parties across the nation fill the screen. You don’t know how to feel. You want to do something, but that isn’t you. You’re not an activist. You don’t make signs or chant: USA! USA! USA! So, you turn-off your light and go to sleep.

Every night it seems you are faced with a choice: do you unplug or do you speak out? Both of those options make you uncomfortable so you do neither…and your frustration continues to grow.

Virtual Book Tour - Excerpt from Chapter 1, The Sage Age

Intuitive Excerpt - Chapter 1 - The Body Antenna

The Body as an Antenna

This chapter explores how the body itself can be regarded as a multifaceted antenna system that acts as a transceiver (transmitter/receiver) of informed energies, or vibes. We will explore the dimensions and posturing of the physical body and show how it works like a broadcast antenna.

We’ll also see how the internal components of the body make shapes that aid in transceiving multiple forms of information. The physical body is sheathed in layers of energy bodies as well, such as the etheric and astral bodies, which themselves act as transceivers for frequencies that are beyond physical measurement at this time. We’ll show how these energies interact with the physical body. And lastly, we’ll discuss the advent of a quantum biological antenna system and the new avenues of discoveries those ideas open for us to explore.

Ritual Body Postures

In the 1960s, Felicitas Goodman was a graduate student in linguistics at Ohio State University. In this position she had the responsibility of translating material for Dr. Erika Bourguignon who was conducting a study on behavior that occurred during religious experience. Of specific interest to Dr. Bourgurgnon were the physiological changes that occurred during trance states induced by various body postures. Later, these findings were confirmed by Canadian psychologist V.F. Emerson who verified that subtle changes in body functioning were a direct result of using different body postures. After graduation, Dr. Goodman continued to investigate this field and found that included within many cultures, there were at least seventy ritual body postures that produced either these subtle effects or full blown altered states of consciousness.

Ritual body postures generally come in two forms: those that are held for long periods and those that are danced into and held momentarily. The commonly known Lotus Position in Yoga is of the first type. Once the position is formed, it is held while the participant focuses on breathing techniques in order to enter an altered state of meditation. It takes at least fifteen minutes of silencing the body and mind enough for it to enter an altered state. Often times, some form of rhythmic cue like a drumbeat or bell is sounded to signal the nervous system to enter an altered state. Tai Chi and QiGong movements are of the second type, where each position is formed by gentle, fluid movements from the previous form. Each position is held momentarily, if at all.

Perhaps it would be helpful to think of the static positions like moving the rabbit ears on an old television antenna. To get better reception on a specific station, the rabbit ears might have to be positioned a certain way and left stationary for the duration. If you want to tune to another station, the antenna might have to be repositioned to get better reception of that broadcast frequency. Holding the body in a specific position during meditation is akin to this tuning of the antenna. Positioning and then holding the body in a certain way allows it to acquire a specific frequency more clearly.

The more fluid movements of Tai Chi are akin to a radio scanner. By constantly changing the position of the antenna, multiple frequencies that are harmonious with one another can be received either serially (one after the other) or simultaneously. This is one of the reasons that the exercises are done slowly, to allow the body time to receive each frequency and to allow time for the chi, or vital energy, to flow through the body. Many of the exercises related to the martial arts use routines that have been honored for centuries. The order of the positions, moving one to another, is very specific, just as a radio scanner moves linearly from one frequency to another until it finds a broadcast signal.

It receives that signal and then returns to scanning. Some of the routines used in QiGong facilitate an orderly energizing of the chakra system from lowest to highest in frequency. The movements of both Tai Chi and QiGong move chi, or vital energy, by stimulating the electrical circuitry of the meridians along which chi flows, activating the body’s own natural healing system. Mental awareness of the movements also strengthens the mind-body connection.

The meridian system, developed by the ancient Chinese practitioners of acupuncture, show the entry and exit points of chi all throughout the human body. When a person deliberately places their physical body in different positions, it allows these entry and exit points to more easily interact with the subtle energy bodies as well as the chi in the surrounding area.

Ritualistic positioning of the body not only allows reception of certain frequencies and energy bands, it also aids in the transmission of that energy. Several studies have shown verifiable evidence that QiGong masters can project Qi up to several feet away from their body. Other studies show multi-ranging frequencies emanating from the hands of energy healers. It is as if the healer is scanning the patient, just as a radio scanner rapidly searches all bands for a broadcast signal. Once a signal of interest is found, the healer tunes in to that frequency and broadcasts healing energy to the patient.

This healing technique is akin to a radio repeater station. A repeater station receives a broadcast on one frequency and then retransmits that signal on another frequency. This is how television was initially broadcast across the country. As an example, the original signal from New York might have been broadcast on a frequency that matched Channel 2 which a repeater station in Pennsylvania then received and rebroadcast to its local area on a frequency that matched Channel 5. The frequency changed, but the information the signal carried remained the same and was rebroadcast by the repeater station. Many energy workers confirm this process. They state that they are merely re-broadcasters, focus-points or conduits of healing energy. The information in the healing energy does not originate with them. The healer simply rebroadcasts the energy on a frequency that can be received by the patient.

Virtual Book Tour - Details of The Sage Age

Let's take a look at a description of each chapter in The Sage Age.

The Sage Age - Book Synopsis – Chapter by Chapter

Chapter 1 - The Body Antenna Explores the physical body as an antenna system and how using ritual body postures and breathing techniques helps tune that antenna. It also includes a description of how broadcast and receiving antennas work and compares them to how the body functions.

Chapter 2 - The Physical Body Transceiver Examines the body’s crystal lattice system, which includes the bones and compares them to the shape and makeup of antennas. It also delivers new vibrational models, which demonstrate how the body communicates internally all the way down to cellular level. Included is a section on the electromagnetic light fields of the heart and brain and how they provide the power and transmission signal of the body antenna.

Chapter 3 - The Energy Bodies Explores the types of information that are broadcast and received by the physical body and through the energetic subtle bodies. Descriptions of the meridian and chakra systems are given as well as the characteristics of the individual subtle energy bodies. A section on morphogenetic fields describes where the vibrational information for these systems resides.

Chapter 4 - The Mind-Body Antenna Delves into the mind-body antenna system and explores the power of thought, the existence of thought-forms and healing with intention. It also covers altered states of awareness including how such states are purposely used for healing, precognition and shamanic practice.

Chapter 5 - Metaphysics - The Study of the Intangible World Covers metaphysics and the study of the intangible world. Kick off the Virtual Book Tour for MaAnna Stephenson and The Sage Age

Between October 19 and October 27, I'll be sharing information about MaAnna Stephenson and her book - The Sage Age - Blending Science with Intuitive Wisdom. Each day we'll share some information about the book, excerpts, and some associated articles that relate to these science and intuitive topics.

Bio for MaAnna Stephenson
Author of The Sage Age – Blending Science with Intuitive Wisdom

While currently known as a visionary thinker and new author, MaAnna Stephenson is a true Renaissance woman. From an early age she was exposed to a myriad of influences including her father's engineering and artistic endeavors, her maternal line of intuitives, and an intrinsic fascination with sound and music. Born in the small town of Humboldt, Tennessee, MaAnna began her journey as the youngest of three children with a huge age gap between her siblings and herself. Constant inclusion in the world of adults led to an early maturity and perhaps a different view of the world than most children experience – especially with the special gifts of the adults in her family. None of it was lost on young MaAnna. "My mother was also an intuitive, as were all the women in my immediate family. Having psychic senses was quite normal and the information derived from these methods was respected and adhered to. I became accustomed quite early to the fact that there were things - forces and powers - which could not be measured with a ruler but were just as real as anything I could see or touch."

An additional gift was bestowed by her paternal grandmother – the gift of music. Time spent at the organ with her grandmother, who was well known for her passion for music, ignited a flame in MaAnna as well. By the time she was a teenager, she was already a multi-instrumentalist and composer, exploring sounds and techniques with special interest in how they affected listeners spiritually and emotionally. Her advanced education continued this line of exploration as she attended Jackson State Community College and Lambuth University concurrently, double majoring in Music and Acoustics with a special apprenticeship at a local recording studio as a sound engineer.

MaAnna transferred to Jackson Area Vocational and Technical School, acquiring a degree in Electronics. This led to a prestigious job offer and subsequent move to Dallas, TX in 1984. She continued her work in sound engineering and music with several international hits to her credit.

After a decade in the big city, she accepted a field assignment in Nashville, TN where she has resided since. It was in Nashville that she began her writing career with a short story triggering what she calls "soul memories." In response to her experience, MaAnna began her self-education in the fields of technical, scientific and New Age thought, exploring ancient mysticism and the rational sciences with equal emphasis. After a five-year preparation period, she was initiated as a shamanka. Her training for this initiation further contributed to her education process as she continued her studies in reconciling the rational sciences and the intuitive arts. This process has culminated in the writing of the newly released "The Sage Age – Blending Science with Intuitive Wisdom".

While maintaining this intense pace, MaAnna has somehow found time to feed her inner artist, working in stained glass, wood carving and, of course, continuing to indulge her love of music. A member of the Institute of Noetic Sciences, she considers herself a "bridge builder" as well as an artist, composer, scholar and author. Her current focus on "new models for new thought" is leading her to develop interactive classes that continue to explore the concepts in "The Sage Age".
